UNION LEADERS
The union leaders at MAG make up what is called the Master Executive Council, or MEC. It is comprised of three officers and eight status representatives.
MEC officers are elected by the status
representatives to serve two-year terms. They are charged with establishing short- and long-term goals and policies, and have the decision-making authority on how to achieve their goals by directing pilot group activities and supporting the committee structure.
Status representatives are elected based upon region, of which MAG has four—West Council 84, Central Council 85, Northwest Council 87, and Southeast Council 88. The members in each council elect a Captain and First Officer to provide leadership at the local level. Each council may also have a secretary/treasurer. |
